MONTH DAY, 2017
The Honorable REPRESENTATIVE
United States Congress
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Congressman LAST NAME,
I am writing to ask for your support of the environment. With the appointment of Scott Pruitt to the head of the Environmental Protection Agency—a group he has a history of attempting to eliminate—it is important now more than ever to consider the future of our states, nation, and world as it relates to nature.
From the potential reintroduction of dangerous pipelines (DAPL, Keystone, etc.) to the reintroduction of dirty energy like coal, it is becoming very obvious that the United States government is content with pushing the planet backwards. Where are the increased pushes for waste reduction and recycling? Where are the efforts to preserve land and animals? Where is the education of the nation (And our representatives!) that there are effects to the things that we do?
America is the unfortunate paragon of waste and consumerism and we are not taking any steps toward reducing our footprint. The example that we’re setting is dangerous and closing a small window of time where we can turn back the clock as it relates to environmental preservation. Please, please, please take action before it is too late.
Thank you for listening. Please let me know that I have your support in protecting the future of the planet.
