The 25 Days Of Honda Days: Day IX, 2010 Honda Element

On the ninth day of Honda Days, Honda gave to me: a 2010 Honda Element.

A unicorn Honda, one that is now dead.
The Honda Element, a limited edition car that only lasted from 2003 through 2011.

I’m not sure of the appeal.
It’s rugged and not?
It’s small and not?
It’s boxy and not?

It’s a car.
Not a truck, not a van, not an SUV.
It’s a car.

(Technically it’s a “CUV,” a compact utility vehicle. Now we know.)

Sometimes, we see ourselves as the same.
What’s the appeal?
Not quite an off day, certainly not on, but just is.
That happens! Happens more often than not.

For these moments of mania, opt for something simple to wear.

• Tracy Ma for FADER “Resist/Persist” shirt.
• Vintage Levi’s cutoffs.
• A COS tote backpack.
• Old Steven Alan sweater.
• Some outlet Nikes I wear to bike long distances.

Don’t mind the crotchal weirdness, i.e. a sweater or hands between legs.
(My briefs were too long while my shorts too short.)
These are the simple problems of an unsimple queer dude.

To be in between, just like the Element.
(But I am a pollutant.)
