The 25 Days Of Honda Days: Day VIII, 2009 Honda Element

On the eighth day of Honda Days, Honda gave to me: a 2009 Honda Element.

The Vehicle: The Element was a brief aughts blip in the Honda timeline, produced between 2003 and 2011. The car was known for being sporty yet sleek, of the era of the floating box cars a la the Nissan Cube and Scion xB. Funny thing about this car: it was advertised to dog lovers after winning the first DogCar of the Year in 2007. The result? Dog packages to cater to dog lovers.

Environmental Impact: Digging around for anything environmentally friendly about this car yields zero results. What’s that mean? For reference, it wasn’t even name dropped in Honda’s yearly environmental report in 2009. Ouch. What a bad dude! Anyway, this car has a 16 gallon tank making it burn 152 pounds of coal a tank. Not the worst! Not the best.

How Happy Does This Honda Make Me? It’s fine. I love the dog connection! But that won’t save the planet, dudes.
