The Vehicle: This is a very normal car. You could call it standard. The best way to describe newer Accords and Civics is how an associate editor at Road & Track described it—
Kind of what you’d expect from a Honda, though. It sits there for a day, a week, a month; you chisel it out of a car-sized icicle, it just works. And it’s a nice car to drive once it and you thaw out.
Eh. It’s fine.
Environmental Impact: In an interesting, non-boring turn of events, this car was actually named the Green Car Of The Year at the 2013 LA Auto Show. This is very interesting considering the 50 to 115 miles per gallon you can get, pending on if you get a hybrid or non-hybrid version of the car. Still, the tank size is 17 gallons bringing it to 161 pounds of coal burned. That’s some bad to the good.
How Happy Does This Honda Make Me? Philosophically, I dig it. But this car just doesn’t fit in completely since you have such a balance between the non-hybrid and hybrid versions: damned if you don’t, damned if you do. In any event, my sweater and sandals are pretty cute.
