The 25 Days Of Honda Days: Day XVII, 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid

On the seventeenth day of Honda Days, Honda gave to me: a 2011 Honda CR-Z Hybrid.

The Vehicle: As if some sort of magic trick, a car from Honda Days past appeared to me this week. As I said then, and still maintain, the CR-Z is a “future Civic,” a car that looks like a mashing of both the old and the new and kind of predicted where the design of the Civic would end up (which is very Prius-y). The difference between the two is that the CR-Zs are very intentionally sporty and a hybrid. I’ll take it!

Environmental Impact: This car was rated “very good” in terms of its value by the Union Of Concerned Scientists but only gets 34 MPG for city/highway combined. That isn’t great. It has basically holds eleven gallons making it a fairly standard Honda in terms of environmental impact: it too burns roughly 104 pounds of coal with each tank.

How Happy Does This Honda Make Me? I appreciate that it is so futuristic! It’s not perfect. Neither is my look so we’re all good here.
