This Is What A Bird Ear Looks Like

Birds have ears. They typically go unseen unless they are owls with little arrow ears above their heads. Other birds? They appear to be earless.

Have you ever wanted to see a bird ear, though? I had no idea how or where these flying monsters receive audial information until very recently, when I found myself in a horrific clickhole. You need to see the results. Are you ready for bird ears? I wasn’t. You won’t be either. Let me add in a buffer of space as to not spoil shit.

You ready for this? It’s uncomfortable. Some science before we proceed: bird ears are hidden under their feathers. There is no “external” ear. Sounds come in from either the left or right side of their body or bounce around their head until things are heard. As Science Daily shared, it all depends on the elevation and where the bird is but—the closer the eardrum—the better the sound is heard. Their ears are internalized because flight with big old flappers wouldn’t be very useful.

Now that we’ve science’d, scroll down for bird ears.

Ewwwwww: it looks like an accident. It looks like, yes, it should always be covered up. It looks like a hole to the brain or some side face pussy that you should not put anything in because why is it there? Are we sure birds aren’t actually characters in Night Breed? They look fucking whack.

And look at this dude’s eyes! This dude is embarrassed like, shit, don’t look in there. Don’t reveal my invisible face scrotum. Don’t look in my side-hole. Don’t see how I hear. Bump on out of this business and leave me be. I have feathers for a reason! BACK OFF, BROTHER.

Some bird ears are just portals to hell. Maybe it’s because these big birds prehistoric and shit? Whatever the reason, that is frightening. It looks like a Sarlac Pit. No. Stop. Keep away non-ear ears!

If you have a bird and are wondering where to find their hidden horror, their facial fright, watch this video for more information. I watched half of this one time in research and I had to wash my hands.

Again: birds are winged earth devils.
